Hey y’all, I’m Avery, but you can also call me Ave. I’m a recent graduate of UNC-Greensboro, where I majored in communication studies. Completing a social media marketing internship for course credit ignited my creative spark because I did a lot of writing for press releases and media alerts.
I used to watch Carolina Hurricanes games with my nana, and it’s one of my favorite memories with her. I decided to start this blog partly in her honor and mostly because why not write about one of my special interests?
Being a woman in sports writing is one thing, but to be a woman with autism spectrum disorder in sports writing is pretty cool and empowering. I want to encourage others while sharing my perspective and making my voice heard.
